MINUTES
The Special Called Meeting for February 12, 2018 of the City Council of Tallulah Falls, Georgia was called to order at 9:42 a.m. by Mayor Teri Dobbs. The meeting took place at the Rock House.

Mayor Dobbs welcomed everyone to the Special Called Meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to tour the Rock House and to appoint the Marketing Team for 2018 by the Council.
Joe Yeager, GA State Park Regional Manager, provided a report from 2010 to Mayor Dobbs regarding asbestos found in the building. He stated that according to the report the asbestos is encapsulated and located in the floor tiles. Therefore, it is not requiring removal or abatement. Due to being encapsulated, there are several options including the application of an overlay, a filler, or the replacement of a single cracked tile and a sealant.

Informative discussion regarding the procedures for participation and receiving funding from Friends of Georgia State Parks was shared by Joe Yeager and Jennifer Jones, Tallulah Gorge State Park Manager. A monetary contribution of $2.50 per hour is paid by the Friends of Georgia State Parks to the local chapter when volunteer hours or financial donations are provided. Once the budget is met, surplus funds are allocated to local area Search and Rescue. The local chapter of Friends of Georgia State Parks meet on the third Wednesday of the month at 3:30p.m.
A Motion was made by Councilperson Hamilton to approve Pepper Kelly and Linda Garland as the 2018 Marketing Team for the Georgia Power Building and the Rock House. The Motion was seconded by Councilperson Goatcher and passed unanimously.
