Saturday, October 8

For generations, people have been coming to Tallulah Falls to enjoy its scenic beauty , and the Fall is a perfect time to visit! The leaves will be starting to change color, the air crisp with autumn, and you can hike the Gorge, bike Shortline Trail, paddle Tallulah Lake, and experience our small town hospitality and grand history!

Join us as we celebrate over 130 years of history in Tallulah Falls.

In honor of our five-founding Tallulah Falls Railroad visionary founders, Colonel Rufus Lafayette Moss, Sr., Thomas Abraham Robinson, William Berry, J .M. Cartledge, and William D. Young, an all-day fundraising event will be held on Main Street starting at 9am. All proceeds will benefit the Tallulah Falls Volunteer Fire Department.

Festivities will begin around 9:00am on Main Street. Activities will include:

  • Art by our many local artists
  • A climbing wall
  • Slack-line demonstration and participation by Tallulah Gorge State Park
  • Our annual community Yard Sale
  • Silent Auction to benefit the Tallulah Falls Volunteer Fire Department
  • Face Painting

The Fire Department will also be serving B-B-Q plates with Pulled Pork, Cole Slaw, Baked Beans, and Apple Sauce. Jimmy Yon’s famous Brunswick Stew will be sold by the Quart on a first-come-first-served basis. To pre-purchase your plates, you can contact any of the town’s Volunteer Fire Fighters, or purchase tickets at Town Hall Mondays through Fridays. Tickets will be $9.00 per plate. Brunswick Stew will be $8.00 per quart, and cannot be pre-purchased or reserved. Time for pick-up will be between 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm, Saturday, October 8.

Then, wrap up the day by having a seat in the cool of the evening and enjoying our regular Saturday Evening Music on Bluegrass Square. Music will begin around 6:00 pm and go until the pickers get tired. Feel free to bring your voice or an instrument if you would like to join in, our stage is always open for participation, we just ask that the music be in the spirit and tradition of Bluegrass.

We look forward to seeing you there!!

** If you would like a Yard Sale table or if you would like space as an Artist, please contact Town Hall for more information. Set up times will be from 8 to 9, Saturday morning.
